Hey ,
It's amazing how a bit of time off can give you new insights – for me, it was a deep "in-my-bones" understanding of the power of spending time in the more-than-human world – and not just hanging out there, but deeply connecting to its complexity, interconnectedness, and symbolism.
All the time I have spent identifying new birds, drawing coastal landscapes, sea-swimming, walking in the rain has inspired a new offering for you – nature-informed coaching and mentoring. But what exactly does that mean?
The International Coaching Federation defines nature coaching as "an approach to coaching developed in connection with nature (not in a simple “presence” of
nature). It’s aimed at restoring human beings to their natural ability to take care of themselves, of other living creatures (human and non-human), and the Earth. This way, coaching can contribute to conditions that help and sustain life on Earth, for generations to come."
They also talk about the idea of nature as a "co-coach" which I love – it's not just about doing traditional coaching while in nature, it's about bringing nature into the process.

I thought I would share some resources on this theme – some ways that you can start to 'rewild yourself' and reconnect to that innate ability to take care of yourself and the planet.

Read/Watch/ListenREAD >>> Rewild Yourself by Simon Barnes is an easy-to-read and witty guide to '23 spellbinding ways to make nature more visible'. Some of the things he shares like 'sit spots' are straight out of the nature coaching playbook – some, like waterproof trousers, are are little more pragmatic. WATCH >>> The sunrise! The sun is coming up at about 8am in the UK at the moment, so it's a far more achievable ambition than it will be by the time it's warmer. Wrap up warm, pop a coffee in your reusable cup, and get out there – the birdsong is incredible just as it starts to get light. LISTEN >>> Tales of Winter Enchantment is Agnes Becker's podcast – I love her "with you" not "at you" approach to sharing her
knowledge and her fascination with the "more-than-human world" (a phrase I have borrowed from her) is contagious. I promise to get her on my podcast soon!
Stay curious, imperfect and defiantly hopeful,

PS Due to the nature of 1:1 coaching and mentoring, I only have a limited number of spots, so if you're keen, get in touch. I can't wait to work with you.
